Co-Founder of Fēnxiǎng, Hong Kong's first peer-to-peer rental and resale platform. On a mission to give women in Hong Kong access to affordable contemporary fashion and to drive more sustainable fashion habits without compromising on incredible clothes. Louisa was inspired to create Fēnxiǎng after a conversation with a friend about her underutilised wardrobe, realising the potential for a community-driven sharing model in a city with limited living space and a desire for diverse fashion options beyond mainstream retail. This vision positions Fēnxiǎng as the "Airbnb of Fashion" in Hong Kong, creating a "community of sharing clothes" and contributing to the circular fashion economy. The name itself, Fēnxiǎng, means "to share some of the goods", underscoring the platform's core ethos.
Start-up obsessed, the first employee at W Series, a female motor racing series aimed at integrating women into Formula 1. Part of the founding team at OPUS, bringing entrepreneurs together to create opportunities through the power of connection. Louisa's early career involved working on the Hillary Clinton campaign and in various startups across sectors like fashion and sports. This diverse experience, initially perceived as a lack of specific expertise, was later recognised as her "superpower" – the ability to wear many hats. This adaptability proved invaluable in her subsequent roles and is now crucial in her founder journey.
Experienced Chief of Staff, working at ReThink HK and leading The ReThink Foundation, Louisa's experience as Chief of Staff, first at a FinTech company and then at a sustainability events company in Hong Kong, was pivotal in her entrepreneurial development. She credits this role with providing her with the multifaceted skills required to navigate the demands of being a founder. Her move to Hong Kong was initially driven by a Chief of Staff position, highlighting her professional journey's international scope and her deep engagement with the sustainability sector.
Her international career across major global hubs has provided Louisa with a broad perspective and a nuanced understanding of different market dynamics, now being applied to the unique context of Hong Kong's fashion landscape. Her approach to building Fēnxiǎng has been deeply rooted in understanding the local market, doing research and focus groups to tailor the platform to the specific needs and behaviours of Hong Kong consumers. Louisa is excited to continue building out new features and offerings to the community of Hong Kong with Fēnxiǎng.
